My Christmas Project Morning will take place on Saturday, December 4th, from 10:00 - 11:30! Yay!

The DEADLINE to order is this coming MONDAY, NOVEMBER 8, 2011 and payment is expected at time of order. All prices include shipping and taxes. PROJECT 7 - Is a limited availability project. If you want to do this project, contact me ASAP! They only made a limited supply and I will order these as soon as I can to make sure we can get them for you. It's a great deal!

Look through the projects below (read all descriptions, please), and let me know which projects you would like to do. As always, you don't have to attend in order to purchase one of these projects. I can get it all together for you and you can pick it up when it's convenient for you. Remember, you get to choose colors for all projects, so be sure to know what you'd like. If you don't indicate different colors, all items will be ordered in the colors shown.

Project 1 - Christmas Countdown ($40.00) - This fun project includes a 12 x 12 Punched Metal Tile in berry red (also available in creme, black, & artichoke green), a 10 x 10 two-part expression and with Chalk Wall, the Easel in Black, and white chalk.

Project 2 - Vintage Metal Sign with your choice of expression ($36.00) - You can choose from two christmas expressions or from a year-round expression. Includes: two-part expression, Vintage Embossed Metal Board in berry red (brown, creme, black, and navy also available). You also get the punched FLoral Medallion for hanging, and a 1.5" coordinating ribbon. The price shown below is the product price before shipping and taxes are added. (The coasters in picture are Project 3 below.) See expression choices below:

Project 3 - Christmas or General Coasters ($18.00) - Coasters also shown in the first photo above. Includes four glass coasters and your choice of expressions shown below. You may also choose to order a single initial (x4), to create a personalized gift, instead.

Project 4 - Name Frame ($15.00 with a six letter last name, add $1.25 for each additional letter, background letter $1.25 if desired) You get the frame, the expression, and your choice of a variety of scrapbook papers for the background. Easels are not included, but you can order one from me for an additional $5.00 if you don't want to find your own.)

Project 6 - Name/Date Tile ($25.00 for a five letter last name, $1.25 more for each additional letter). Fonts may vary depending on the letters included in the desired name; not all fonts look right depending on the letters.) You get the tile, foam backing for the tile, the expressions, and the metal easel.

Project 7 - (LIMITED TIME OFFER!) Cookies for Santa - Round Charger ($12.50) or Square Charger ($15.00) Cookies for Santa Charger Kits! Hello Uppercase Living Friends!

Fall is in the air, and it's time for my next project night! It will be held on October 1st at 6:30 PM at my home. Take a look at the projects available and let me know if you are interested in attending and which projects you'd like to do. As always, there will be a free project for each participant, so be sure to join me. If you have a friend that might be interested in doing a project or two, please forward this email to them. Also, the new 2010-2011 Idea Book has just been released and you can look through it while you're here. In addition, we have a new holiday mini-catalog with projects and gifts galore for the holidays, and you can see some of those items when you come to the project night. If you book an open house, you'll get an idea book as a gift! I've got two dates open for September, so be sure to contact me quickly if you are interested in earning free and half price products.

Deadline to sign up is Thursday, September 9! All projects must be paid for at time of sign up. If you can't make the project night, you may still order any project to do on your own.

Project 1 - Clay Jack-O-Lanterns ($15.00)

These two happy faces make fun additions to your fall decor. This is an easy project for first timers! :)

Project 2 - Faith, Hope, Love Hurricanes with Candles ($30.00)

This is a project that can be displayed all year long. The candles sit on a rock base and go with any decor.

Project 3 - "Fall" acrylic block - ($26.00; $30.00 with lights).

This acrylic block is filled with cream colored tulle and has the capacity to be filled with white lights if you desire. You may also purchase an expression for the other side of the block (I recommend the "Peace" expression for Christmas; add $12.00), so that you can use the block throughout the holiday season. This block comes with a "fall" ribbon and leaves, but the ribbon can be replaced with a coordinating Christmas ribbon if you choose to get both designs.

Project 4 - Child's initial and name canvas board ($24.00)

This is a fun and easy way to personalize a child's room. You will get a pre-drilled, pre-painted, white canvas board and an initial and the child's first and middle name in your choice of colors. Ribbon does not come with this project because personal styles vary so much; however, if you trust my judgment, I can pick up the ribbon for you. Also, if you would like the "flower" medallion to hang your canvas board on, please add $6.50.

Project 5 - Children's name or art board with clips ($35.00 - $48.00 depending on wording and number of letters in name)

This is a great project for all of the artwork and spelling test papers that your kids bring home. You can choose to have just your child's name, or the "Look what I did" expression. You can also add a 3" embellishment ( $3.00) to your child's name that represent what your child is "in to." For example, if your child is into trains, we can order a train (or two) to add to the board. We have all kinds of embellishments to meet almost any interest. Give me a call to discuss your options and I can quote you a price.

Project 6 - 4 Tile Coasters with initial ($10.00)

I know that I offer this project each time, but it is seriously such a simple project and it makes such a great gift. Let me know the initial you would like me to order. You will receive 4 tiles, felt backing, 4 initials (your choice of color/font), and black ribbon to neatly tie them all together.

Project 7 - Name/Date tile (Price as shown: $25.00) - You'll get a 12 x 12 tile, a 10" initial, name, and est. date, and the wrought iron plate stand. The price is based on a five letter last name. Longer last names will be an additional $1.25 per letter.

Hello, my Uppercase Living Friends!

It's that time of year when there is a special event around every corner, so I thought I'd present some projects that might help out with your gift giving needs this Spring.

My next project night will be held on Friday, May 7, 2010 at my home in two sessions (6:00 to 7:00 PM OR 7:00 - 8:00 PM). I have many fun projects to choose from this time, so please take the time to read/look through this entire post. You must sign up and have your order paid for by Sunday, April 11, 2010 in order for your project to be ready on time. No orders will be placed without payment. If, for some reason, you are unable to attend the Project night, I will deliver your project to you. It's going to be a great time, and as always,

Project 1 - MOTHER'S DAY PROJECTS! CHOOSE PROJECT 1A, 1B, 1C, OR 1D!

Project 1B - "Mother's Day is always sweeter with chocolate." You'll get the vintage embossed metal board in creme, the two part expression, and the bloom with jewel center. This is perfect for the chocolate loving mom! Price: $35.00

Project 1D (Love is another name for mother) - You'll get the expression, the 13" glass charger with clear easel, and 1 Dress-ups Mini-bloom in white. Price $27.00

Project 2 - Weddings! It's also wedding season right now, so here are a couple of lovely, personalized projects. Choose from 2A or 2B.

Project 2A - Name/Date tile - You'll get a 12 x 12 tile, a 10" initial, name, and est. date, and the wrought iron plate stand. The price is based on a five letter last name. Longer last names will be an additional $1.00 per letter. Price as shown: $25.00

You may also be looking for end of the year teacher gifts. You may choose from:

Project 3B - Teacher Block Kit - You'll get the two part expression, the clear acrylic block, and the 1 1/2" wide ribbon. The acrylic block can be filled with just about anything - the teacher's favorite candy, crayons, money/coins, or whatever else you desire. Price: $20.00

And yes, it's graduation time. I have two projects for you to choose from:

Project 4A - "Class of 2010" glass block. You'll get a glass block (not acrylic) and the two part expression in your choice of colors. I always put ribbons in the school colors around the outside of the block (ribbon not included). These are great party decorations and make a fantastic bookend when the student heads off to college. Price: $15.00

Project 4B - Graduation Keepsake Kit - You'll get the two part expression, the 13 x 13 square charger, the simple easel, and a black permanent marker. Price: $27.00

Note: You may also purchase the 10 piece Graduation Decor Set (partially shown) which includes the banner, two graduation hats, three diploma scrolls, and four "2010s". This is in our new decorative prints material and is reusable/repositional. Sizes range from 7.5" up to 48" wide. Price: $37.00

Project 5 - Father's Day! And finally, don't forget about Father's Day!

Project 5A - "Best Dad Ever" acrylic block - You'll get the acrylic block (which you can fill with any of Dad's favorite things) and the two part expression. Price: $25.00

Children's Room Expression

I had a fun time putting up a new expression in the children's room at our church. The room's theme is extreme sports, and the children's director thought this verse would be great on the wall. Just thought you might want to see it.

First, we had to tape up the expressions to get them where we thought we wanted them. Because the expression was so long, we had to create it in pieces and them put them all together.

Then, piece by piece we leveled and applied the expressions.

And, then......wah-lah! It's all up!

You'll have to check back in to see the skateboard silhouettes that will be placed above the half-pipes in the room. They'll look great.

Okay, I never got around to posting pictures of the last project day! All I can say is that life gets busy sometimes and certain things just get pushed to the back burner even though we don't want them to. So, without further ado, here's what you missed. And.....if you think this all looks fun, my next project day will be announced here shortly, so be on the lookout for that!

Coasters are always fun to make!

Below is one of the projects for the day. Twelve of these personalized tiles were made, most of them as gifts.

These ornaments were one of the free projects offered. There is a free project for each participant at my project days. You never know what you might get to go home with!

Another project from the November Project Day. This is great for all the spelling tests and art projects your kids bring home from school.

Here's the free project table. Quite a bit of visiting and laughter took place around this table.

One customer made a set of glass coasters with snowflakes. Perfect for winter and a great gift idea!

It's time for select the projects that you would like to do at my next project day! It will be held on Saturday, November 21st from 10:00 AM to 11:30 or 12:30 to 2:00 PM! I have many fun projects to choose from this time, so please take the time to read/look through this entire email. It's going to be a great time, and as always, there will be a free project for you to do while you are here! Don't miss out!

Remember: for all projects, you get to choose your colors. If you like the colors shown, great! If not, go to my website and see the color selections (http://gena.uppercaseliving.net). All prices listed include shipping (8.95%) and tax (8.375%) as required by the great state of California.

Project 1 - "Give Thanks" Trifle Bowl $23.54 - This is an easy project that looks beautiful! You will also receive a recipe for a delicious Pumpkin Trifle, just in time for the Thanksgiving! :-)

Projects 2 and 3 - You can choose from Project 2, the "Believe" board ($53.07) and Project 3, the "Twas the Night" board ($35.48). You can choose between two different options for each board - a Christmas option or a general option. The "Believe Board" comes complete with a pre-painted board, the vintage knobs, ribbon, and four tin 4 x 4 tiles for pictures. The "Twas the Night" board comes pre-painted with the four silver star hangers.

Below are the more general expressions that are available.

Project 4 - An Advent Calendar! ($35.48) - This project comes with a great, aged-look metal charger with a hanging ribbon, a silver star magnet, and one of the three two-part expressions shown below. I purchased the "O Come Let Us Adore Him" advent calendar and look forward to using it this year!

Project 5 - "Look What I Did" board with clips ($47.23/more if personalized with child's name). This project can be personalized with a child's name (in a different vinyl color) behind the "Look what I did" expression. I have decided to change the phrase to, "Look what I did," so that the board works for school papers, awards, and art projects. Of course, you can always order it as shown, too, if you like that better!

Project 6 - Name Tile ($16.88; based on last name with 7 letters)- This project will be personalized and perfect for gift-giving. It includes a 12 x 12 tile, a 10" initial in your choice of font/color, and a name in your choice of font and color. The price of this project will vary depending on the length of the name ordered.

Project 7 - Charger with either "Joy to the World" or "The Four Basic Food Groups" expression ($40.14). Both designs are two part designs and look wonderful on this quality, square charger. This looks great in an easel, and you can also use this charger as a platter to serve on. (Hand wash only.)

Project 8 - Child's Chore/Love Note Mailbox ($25.98 - based on six letter name). You just might know the great mom that came up with this project for her sweet, little ones. (I think her kids' names give it away.) :-) My kids would have loved to have checked for their chores in a mailbox, and then just to mix it up, some days I could have put in love notes, or a little treat, or free chore coupon, or any other number of things. In my family, my grandma used to have a mailbox posted in her backyard, and she would place little notes in it when the great-grandkids came to visit, and now my mom has carried on the tradition. Perhaps you want to start your own tradition. Too Cute! :-)

Project 9 - Cookies in a Jar ($11.80) - Need a gift for a teacher, gift exchange, neighbor, or co-worker? Make this yummy project! You get the jar, the ingredients to fill it, your choice of a holiday embellishment (or an initial), ribbon, and a cookie cutter to finish it off. If you want to add the words, "Jar Cookies," as pictured, cost is $20.07.

Great news! I have four exciting announcements:

4) And last, but certainly not least, it's time to sign up for my next Project Night! The projects are shown and described below, so check them out and then let me know which projects you would like to do. If you sign up for one or more of my projects, you will also get a bonus project that you can do while here. Believe me, you'll love it. You might want to think about birthday, house-warming, and Christmas gifts, also.

The project workshop will be held on Saturday, August 29th in two sessions: 4 - 6 PM or 6 - 8 PM at my home. When signing up, please be sure to let me know which time session you would like to attend.

You must RSVP by Sunday evening, August 9th to be included in this project night. I will be offering other project nights this fall with new projects for you to choose from. All projects must be paid for in advance at the time of order. If you are unable to attend the project night at the last minute, your project will be delivered to you, and you can do the project on your own.

1) The first project is an off-white canvas board with a monogram. There are two monogram styles to choose from (floral or elegant) and the design is in black or chocolate brown. You get the canvas board (16 x 24), the monogram, and the ribbon. The boards will be drilled for a ribbon, but if you would prefer to just set the board somewhere, I don't have to drill it. The price is $22.00
2) The second project is a Halloween design. You get the 12 x 12 board (primed, but you will need to paint it and sand the edges while you're here), the two-part design, and the use of our new "Vinyl Effects" product that gives the word "Halloween" a raised and shiny finish (This doesn't show up on the photo below). You'll love it! Cost $37.003) Our third project is personalized with your last name on glass in a frame. This smart project allows you to change out the scrapbook paper behind your last name for each season. I've given you a few examples here (BTW, this particular "Brandon" is a last name, not a boy's name. If this project were for a boy, there would be much "manly-er" paper behind the name!). You get the frame, glass, your name, and a selected variety of scrapbook papers (or you can supply your own). The cost for this project will vary depending on the number of letters in your last name and the size of lettering that is chosen to fit the frame properly. You may also put someone's first name (a child's or friend's), or a teacher's name, or whatever else you might want on the frame. The cost for this project is approximately $15.00.
4) The fourth project you might want to do uses our new GLASS COASTERS! You get four glass coasters that you will personalize with an initial and a corner embellishment. The coast for this project is $18.00 if you use one of UL's regular vinyl colors and $23.00 if you want the etched glass vinyl that is shown in the example picture.5) Another coaster option is the 4 x 4 tile coasters with a simple initial on them. You get a set of four tiles, protective felt for the back, the initials, and a black ribbon to make for a beautiful gift presentation. The cost for this project is only $10.00. For beautiful gift presentation, a UL Bloom can be added to your project to place on top of the ribbon. This option adds $2.00 to the project total.6) The final project will make a great gift for your coffee-loving friends! You get our new acrylic "glass" block, a five inch coffee cup embellishment, coffee beans, and beautiful ribbon to finish off your block. If you want to add an initial to the coffee mug, we can arrange that for you. The cost for this project is $23.00 ($1.00 - $1.20 more if you add an initial-depends on font size).Okay, give me a call or email me right away with your project choices. Convention Photos!

As promised, here are a few photos from convention. First off, we now offer square Frameworks with a 12 x 12 opening which are great! Any 10 x 10 expression will fit wonderfully in this frame, as will any 12 x 12 scrapbook page or calendar. Notice the utensil embellishments along the top portion of the chair rail.

We now sell a board that comes pre-drilled so that four hooks or knobs can be used. I loved the idea of this Family Night board. This is the actual board that the creative director for Uppercase Living created for her family. Isn't that a great idea? Each person in her family is responsible for a different portion of family night each week. They rotate each week, and I wish I had thought of this years ago. Maybe you can use this idea for your family.

UL now has a great Eiffel Tower. Nicole, I know you've got to be so excited about this one! :-) Anyway, it comes in various sizes, just like the new Chrysler Building and Statue of Liberty do. They are great designs and look fabulous as a focal point on any wall.

UL now sells a glass charger that is beautiful. It comes with the stand that you see here, and it looks even better in person. There are two expressions on this piece: a flower embellishment placed on the underside of the charger, and the word in another color on the front. The beauty of that is that the word on the front can be changed seasonally. A design in etched glass would look beautiful on this!

We now have some great designs and new fonts. I loved this room design with the embellishments below the shelf in various states of rotation. What kids wouldn't love this on their walls. Although you can't really see the stripes that were on the bottom portion of the wall, we now sell those as well. It makes decorating even easier. Notice the square frame that has been personalized with the letter "D" and the name "David."

Deck Out Your Laptop!

Do you have a laptop that is just begging for some flair? Well, I did, and I solved that problem by purchasing a 10 inch embellishment for it. Below is my laptop with the antique bronze embellishment on the front. It's a nice, respectable, mature design.

Then my daughter got it in her head to deck out her new laptop, and I have to say, mine looks a little dull sitting next to hers! Good thing she's gone for the summer so I don't have to struggle with "laptop embellishment envy." Didn't this turn out great?!

Old Windows

There are some great projects you can do if you can get your hands on some old windows. In fact, I'd like to do an old window project for my next Make and Take. Would anyone be interested in that?

Anywho......................here are some examples for you to check out.

I hung this window above the bathtub in the kids' bathroom so that they can hang their swimsuits and towels there after swimming. I added hooks along the bottom to save me the aggravation of finding wet swimsuits and towels everywhere!

This is actually a window that belongs to someone else, but it's beautiful, don't you think?

This old window is actually an original window from our house.

This in an old hutch door that my sister-in-law gave me, and I simply applied one of UL's free customer expressions on it. I haven't found a place for this yet, and I may eventually switch out the expression. I'm just not sure yet.

So there you have it; some old windows made even better with Uppercase Living!

Chores for Kids Project

A friend of mine came up with a fabulous idea, and she's given me permission to share it.

She bought three metal mailboxes (one for each child) and then purchased their names and an embellishment for each one. I think she let her kids pick out what she wanted for their own mailbox and the colors that they wanted.

She will use the mailboxes to put little notes in to her children, as well as the chores that she wants them to do for that day. How fun is that?! I wish I had thought of that when my children were younger. (I realize the previous sentence makes me sound so old!) Anyway, if you want to order some names and embellishments to do this project for your kids, just go online and use the MyDesign feature to create your children's names and save them. Then you can either order straight from my website or you can call me to place what you want on the next order I have going in.

Here's to kids who look forward to going to the mailbox to find out their chores for the day!

Hey there! This will be a multi-purpose post. :-)

First of all, have you checked out the new Chalk Wall kits that are available for a limited time? They are so fun and fabulous and only cost $19.95. They come with different expressions so you can choose what works best for you. They are only available through May, so don't wait.

I wanted to share a photo that one of my customers sent to me. She put this up in her kitchen and I think it looks beautiful! You can do it, too.

I also hate to do this to you all, but the Make and Take Night date has been moved - AGAIN! I am so sorry! I actually think it will be on May 15th, but I'm a little afraid to put it out there because it might need to be changed again. We had such a great time at my first ever Make and Take Project Night! It was a learning event for me, but everyone seemed to have a good time and many requested that I do them in the future. So, I already have one project on the idea list that you moms will LOVE! I think the next project night will be in April, but I'll let you all know.

Here's a couple of pictures to make you wish you had joined us!

Below is a picture of the birthday presents I gave my nieces. Their bathroom had just been redone so I made personalized containers for their counter and filled it with necessary supplies. A single initial can make even the simplest of containers a personalized gift.

Make and Take Night!

Hello!

It's time to sign up for my first ever Make & Take project night! The date has been changed due to a conflict (the conflict being me not getting this email out sooner!), so the new date is TUESDAY, FEB. 17, 2009 at 6:30 PM at my home.

There are four projects to choose from, and they are all pictured below. You will need to choose which project (or projects) you would like to do, and then either email or call me before Monday at Feb. 2nd. All prices include shipping and supplies, so it is a great deal for you. Payment is required to hold your reservation. You can either mail your payment to me or drop off a check.

I know it's short notice, but I want to get the order in to guarantee that the supplies will be here. All projects make great gifts for yourself or someone else, so be thinking who you could make a gift for.

Project 1 - A set of six tile coasters personalized with initials (only two coasters are shown in the picture). This is a great starter project -easy and affordable. You will also get ribbon to tie around your finished coasters so that they are ready to give as a gift, if you choose. You will need to let me know which initial you would like on the coasters. Cost: $10.00

Project 2 - "Lost Socks" board. This is a fun and useful project that looks great. The board is 15" x 8 1/2 " and comes with five clothes pins. This project requires some staining, so I'll supply disposable gloves. Cost: $16.00

Project 3 - "God grant me patience to deal with my blessings" tile. This is a great gift for any parent and comes with a great black iron easel! This is another great first-time project. Cost: $21.00

Project 4 - A lighted glass block with an initial (let me know what initial you would like). You can't really see the beautiful ribbon that is tied around this frosted block, but this glass block makes a great gift for yourself or someone else. This makes a great night light for a child's room or a classy gift. I have enough lights for the first 10 people who sign up, but after that, you'll have to order your lights with white wire online. I have the website where you can get the lights that I will give to you if you aren't one of the lucky first 10 people. You will also need to let me know which initial you would like for your glass block. This project is a quick project, so you could easily do another project that night. Cost: $25.00 ($20.00 without lights).

OPTIONAL PROJECT: There is also an optional project if you are interested. It is an "This Home Established in _ _ _ _" plaque with a black ribbon. You would need to let me know the year that you would like included. This project costs $25.00. If you just want the expression to place on something you already have (mine is on an old window), you can order the expression alone for a discounted price of $18.00 (includes the numbers and shipping).

Okay, let me know quickly if you are interested in participating. Since I've never done this type of event before, I may need to place a cap on the number of people attending to ensure that I have enough supplies and everyone is able to finish their projects that night. This event will be first come, first served.

You will also have the opportunity to look through the new catalog (or purchase for $4.00) while you are here. If you book an open house while you are here, you will receive your catalog for free, of course. The new "etched glass" vinyl is beautiful, and we have four new vinyl colors and some new accessories to put expressions on. You'll love it!

Well, my friends, I have the new catalog in my hot, little hands right now! I had been waiting to get it to see the new products and colors, and the catalog didn't disappoint. I can't wait to share it with you all.

I will be hosting an open house later this month, at which time you can come by, do a lighted, glass block project (only if you pre-register), and buy a new catalog. I think I'll have a drawing for a free catalog and another one for a free expression.

Speaking of expressions, I happen to have two great expressions that are available at a discount if you'd like them. The first is a two part design in soft copper and chocolate brown that says, "There's nothing like being at home for real comfort." It's a beautiful, classy design with the AT HOME part in a larger design centered in the saying in soft copper.

The second expression that I have available is "The laughter of a child is the light of the home." It is in the berry red color and would be great in your home if you have children or grandchildren. If you are interested, I can give you the exact dimensions when you call.

It's Beginning to Look A Lot Like Christmas!

I had an open house in Modesto last night and I was able to show off my newest Christmas decoration with a UL expression. Check out the picture:

I sprayed frost on a glass block, applied a beautiful UL Christmas expression, and then put lights inside before wrapping it up with a pretty ribbon and glittered leaves. It looks great! It also make a great night light, so I've been thinking this would be a great idea for a child or baby. I could put the child's name over their initial or some other fun embellishment, puts some lights in it and viola! A beautiful, personalized nightlight! You can check this item out at my multi-vendor open houses the next two weekends.

The first on is tonight (Friday, Nov. 14 from 5:00 to 8:00 PM) and tomorrow (Sat. November 15 from 10:00 to 2:00 PM). The address is 1138 Kay Circle in Turlock. You can use your GPS or Google Maps to find it. I'd love to see you there and the other vendors will be Home Interiors, Avon, Tupperware, and Scentsy.

The next mulit-vendor open house is on Sat. November 22 from 10:00 - 3:00 PM. The location is 2581 Jubilee Drive in Turlock (again use your GPS or Google Maps) and the other vendors, so far, are: Gold Canyon Candle, At Home America, Isogenix, Mary Kay, Cookie Lee, My Little Lovie, and Pampered Chef. This open house is having a drawing for a gift basket valued at over $100.00 with items from each vendor. It should be fun.

Lovely Time

I had the loveliest time tonight at an open house in Turlock. I think the best thing about selling Uppercase Living is that I have met the most wonderful people that I just sense are supposed to be friends of mine. The hostess tonight is one of those people. In fact, we agreed to get together some time soon so that we can get to know one another better. Sometimes I just feel "at home" with people, and I think that's a sign that we're supposed to be friends. I also pray that people will feel "at home" with me so that they can be themselves and know that they are loved and accepted. Who would have thought that my involvement with a product that I am having so much fun with would bring me friends? An unexpected blessing, indeed!

UL at School!

I had a great time today sharing Uppercase Living at a school in Modesto. I had never considered doing an open house at a school, but it worked out great! The hostess (a kindergarten teacher) set out some snacks in her more-than-cute classroom, and her colleagues stopped by after school to join us. I had a great time, but in looking at the classroom, I realized am not cut out to teach kindergarten! :-)

Traditionally, teachers are one of the worst groups to try to present to because they like to talk, A LOT, but this group was great! We did our Make and Take project, looked at the various samples and idea catalogs, and came up with some creative gift ideas (ornaments and coasters!).

Okay, my fourth open house of the week is tomorrow afternoon, and I'm looking forward to staying here in Turlock for this one! :-)

The First of Five!

I just had the first of five open houses that are scheduled for this week. It was in Ripon (my fourth one in that fine city with another scheduled for next week), and I booked two more open houses tonight for November. One is in Escalon, and the other will be in Dos Palos of all places! It seems that there aren't many demonstrators in "them there parts", so they all are booking through me.

It's a busy time, but it is so fun to see people so excited about what they can do with the Uppercase Living products. No one at tonight's open house had ever heard of Uppercase Living before, so it was fun to expose them to this fun and personalizable (is that a word?) product. They couldn't believe that UL offers over 50 fonts and 32 different colors. I mean, how much more personalized can you get?

Gift Ideas!

I was blessed enough to be able to spend some time with my mom today. We stopped by Dd's Discount, and I found some great glass coasters in a brushed silver holder that will be great to put initials on for Christmas gifts. I also thought that maybe I should put Christmas designs on them such as snowflakes, ornaments, Christmas trees, and such so that they would be a set of Christmas coasters. The coasters were clearance priced for $2.99! Is that great, or what?! I know many of you are thinking of making a set of coasters for some of those on your Christmas lists, so I thought you'd want to know about my great find.

Biggest Open House Yet!

Last Thursday, I had my biggest open house yet in Ripon! It was lots of fun, and boy, can women talk and laugh it up! The only problem I had with that large of a group was getting all of their attention at the same time to be able to give them information. I applied one of the hostesses expressions that she had ordered from a previous open house on her wall. It turned out great!

Let's see.....any new news? Well, as a matter of fact there is! First of all, be sure to check my website (http://gena.uppercaseliving.net) frequently as the monthly specials are always changing and any new information will be posted on my home page. Also, October is almost full with open houses already, so if you are thinking of hosting an open house in order to get holiday gift shopping done, you need to contact me quickly! Remember, if you host a qualifying open house, you will earn free and half-price product, as well as be eligible for hostess only expressions.

I am hoping to post some pictures of my youngest daughter's bedroom which we just re-did. She wanted flowers in her room, so I let her pick out which ones and which colors she would like. We had a lot of fun painting, moving furniture, and putting up her flowers.

Remember, I'd love it if you would email me pictures of your projects. If I choose to add your picture to my website, you will earn a five inch embellishment of your choice!

I've had three open houses since I last posted, and the one last night was a great time. It was especially nice to stay afterward and visit with the hostess; it gave us time to catch up with one another! :-)

I just want to put a little bug out there that I will be having a Make and Take night with various holiday items. I'll post pictures of what you can choose from, along with the prices, and if you are interested, you can pre-register and join us for the fun. If you think you might want to join us, mark Thursday, Oct. 23 at 7:00 PM on your calendar.

It will be necessary for you to pre-register and pay so that I can have all of the supplies ordered, here, and ready to go. There's some great items, so check back soon.

Okay, off to make the final few decisions for Make and Take night!

Fun Times!

I had an open house this evening (including a dinner), and we had a blast! Tiffany had everyone show up at 5:30, and she put out quite the spread. Everyone was relaxed as Tiffany has a warm and welcoming home.

The neat projects suggested tonight? One teacher is looking to add some words to a display in her classroom. She took a sample to see if it would adhere to some screening that she has put up on a wall in her classroom as part of a display. I'm anxious to know if it will work.

Another friend is looking to create some special, personalized Christmas gifts. She has found some great wooden pictures frames that have room for a 4 x 6 horizontal photo at the top and a large area underneath that is perfect for an expression. She will paint the frames and then put the family's initial in soft cooper behind the family's full last name in chocolate brown. She is then adding "est. 1998" in smaller letters below the name and monogram. It will look beautiful and I'm sure it will be received with wonder and thanks.

Another friend is custom creating the following saying to fit on a canvas that she has: Change your thought and change your world. Isn't that great? This saying is in the idea catalog, but the size didn't work for her, so she took care of that by creating a MyDesign expression to order. I think that is a good thought to end on tonight: Change your thoughts and change your world.

I just got back from a great open house at my friend, Cheri's, house. We had fun putting expressions on tiles, and Cheri had the word, "Transforming" put on the wall over a mirror in her kitchen. Looks great!

Hello and welcome to my new blog!

I look forward to sharing some fun ideas and updates about Uppercase Living. There have been some fun things going on, and I just needed a place to share them.
